WHAT IS THE BLUE RIDGE CUP?

More races than ever before.
We’re always on the lookout for new races to add to the Blue Ridge Cup. The 2008 Race Calendar is chock full of quality footraces scheduled throughout the Southeast. Be sure to check out the new and improved Race Calendar for more opportunities to stay on course from now until the ball drops. The Blue Ridge Cup is a lot like a Choose Your Own Adventure book.

50 points equals a free shirt!
Earn 50 POINTS from our Race Calendar however you'd like, and receive an engineered performance polyester shirt that we know you'll love. Your commemorative BRC performance wear from Sport Science works hard while you continue to play.

The skinny on the points system.
All races on the Blue Ridge Cup Race Calendar are assigned point values based solely upon distance – it has nothing to do with the difficulty of terrain, the number of water stops, the predicted weather patterns, start time, whether or not the race shirt actually fits, the tastiness of food at the finish line, or the quality of handmade pottery awarded after the race. Just the distance. For more information on specific point values according to distance, consult the Blue Ridge Cup homepage.

How to submit race results.
We’ve received some questions regarding how to submit race results. The process is actually quite simple and not nearly as painful as actually finishing the race. First, you visit the Point Standings page. You then fill out the Race Results Submission Form on the right. Click Submit. The information is fed into an online database, and the Point Standings page is then manually updated by the Blue Ridge Cup Director. The results are not posted “real time.” It’s our way of keeping it clean. This is a family place.
