Movie Night at SylvanSport is our way of sharing inspiring and amazing outdoor adventure stories from around the world. We are continually in awe of what folks are doing and the places they are going and can’t help but bring some of these stories to Western North Carolina. Movie Night is always FREE and we’ll provide the popcorn! So, bring a friend, a chair, some snacks and your favorite beverage and we’ll see you at the movie!
On Thursday, Dec 7, we are proud to present Losing Sight of Shore, directed by Sarah Moshman and winner of the Tribeca Film Institute All Access Grant Award and Rogovy/Miller Packan Fund Summer 2016 Grant Award.
Losing Sight of Shore follows the extraordinary journey of four brave women known as the Coxless Crew that set out to row the Pacific Ocean from America to Australia unsupported. As they row over 8,000 miles during their nine months at sea, they face extreme mental and physical challenges they must overcome in order to go down in history. This is a story of perseverance, friendship, and the power of the human spirit.
SPECIAL GUEST: We are excited to have the Team Leader of the Coxless Crew, Laura Penhaul, joining us from London, England via Skype following the screening for a Q&A session with the audience!
