Ledges Whitewater Park
We’re completing a new batch of riverboards and are ready to let the public try them. We’ll be at Ledges Whitewater Park ( just outside of Asheville near Alexander ) most of the day. If you don’t see us in the park, head upstream on the trail by the water. There is a single set of rapids that you can run for a lap or two to try riverboarding. The rapids are rated as class II and there is even a surf hole at certain levels. We will have boards and all needed gear for riverboarding. You only need to bring swim attire, water, and a towel.
You can come at any time between 11 am and 5 pm and make a run or two, and leave as you wish after. Parking can be limited at the park due to it also being a starting point for cyclists, so if you know anyone else attending please make plans to carpool. If levels should be too low on that day, the alternate spot will be about 2 miles downstream at the Alexander Bridge Rapid (parking in the pull out just upstream of the bridge ). If that is the case, we will update that morning on the event Facebook page and Appalachian Riverboard Company Facebook page that we are moving to the alternate spot.
