Half-Moon Outfitters, the South Carolina-based independent outdoor retailer, continues to expand its reach in the South. This week Half-Moon opened a new 11,000-square-foot location in an old movie theatre in Charleston, S.C. To celebrate the outfitter donated 10 percent of its opening day profits to the Coastal Conservation League and the Nature Conservancy. Since opening in 1993 Half-Moon has expanded to nine locations in Greenville, Columbia, Mt. Pleasant, and Charleston in South Carolina and Athens, Atlanta, and Savannah in Georgia. Not too shabby in a world of big box competition.
