Rivers Are Swollen

April 12. Mark your calendars everyone. This is opening day for Trout Season in The Alleghenies. Yes out-ta staters are welcome and the PA Fish and Game Commission has visitor licences available. Trout season in Pennsylvania is a time when the guard rails of our two lane roads act as magnets. Attracting cars and persuading them to pull over and throw their lines in some of the country's best streams. These streams are alive with rainbow, brown, and even the native brook trout.

If boots and waders aren't in your creel, then put on a skirt. April's spring melt also affords the paddlers some very priveledged waters that might not be deep enough in the later summer months. We've got class III's and even some class IV's that give you the adventure your looking for. Be sure to bring plenty of granola because these streams are long enough to give you an entire day in the boat.

So whether you choose to standing or sit in them, these waters are calling out for ya. Visit THEALLEGHENIES.com to locate your river of choice and begin planning that trip before your lunch hour.
