Screen Shot 2014-09-18 at 10.23.47 AMReturning to Alexandria, Virginia for its fourth year, the local Rock & Stroll to End Homelessness will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at John Carlyle Square Park. Come run, dance, listen, eat, and enjoy – all while helping the community at large.

The event centers around three race options: a 10K, a 5K, and a 1K Fun Run. All races begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. Check out more information about the individual courses, and make your choice. After the run, anyone can enjoy the festival at the park, featuring an awards ceremony, Zumba, Hula Hoop competitions, a Cornhole challenge, music, and food.

Nonprofits from throughout Northern Virginia, consisiting of ALIVE (Alexandrians Involved Ecumenically), AACH (The Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless), Community Lodgings, Good Shepherd Housing & Family Services, New Hope Housing, and Wesley Housing will come together to host the event. Money from the festival will help fund “programs and services to support children, adults, seniors, those with chronic disease as well as those with disabilities to regain their dignity and renew their lives,” according to Wesley Housing President Shelley Murphy.

Register to run and spend a wonderful day in Alexandria for the Rock and Stroll to End Homelessness!
