I like terrain parks. They are super.
Flying through the air is fun… but there is nothing better than the serenity of the steep and deep
Natures terrain park. Deep snow in the trees. Bonk some stumps, slide a tree or two. No shovels, just nature.
Terrain parks make our small resorts around here much more worthwhile. I ride both park and slopes but I’ve been skating and snowboarding for over 30 years and so am fully influenced by the origins and original concepts that created snowboarding. For most others like me, if there isn’t a park or if the park is no good, then we’ll try making a park out of the slopes.
When I was a beginner, I loved the trails. I soon conquered the Diamonds, and frankly they became boring, and it usually just meant a long lift for a shorter ride. Now I live in the terrain park, but I’ve been riding for 8+ years now. I am on the East coast, trails ain’t that great.
