In theory, climbing is a simple concept to grasp: reach up, step up, and keep moving higher. But gravity doesn’t always agree. This footage of Leslie Timms at the New River Gorge in West Virginia serves as a reminder of the “down” side of climbing – literally. Timms’ major whipper sends her flying down the wall in the middle of a tough sequence on Dead Raibéid, one of the New’s numerous classic 12+ trad routes.
