Keeping Up with the Jacksons

The National Freestyle Kayaking Championships were held in Cascades, Idaho last weekend, and the Jacksons, the local boating family that has redefined freestyle kayaking, pulled in five gold medals. Eric Jackson, repetitive world champion and owner of Jackson Kayaks, won the men’s title. Emily Jackson, Eric’s daughter, won the women’s title, and Dane Jackson, the youngest, won the junior men’s title as well as two freestyle canoe titles. Dane is also fresh off three gold medals at the International Canoe Federation Freestyle Kayak World Championships in Germany. The Jackson family, which hails from Tennessee, has been ruling the freestyle world for several years. It looks as if their reign will continue.
