Powder, man, powder

Winter finally hit with full force in the Southern Appalachians this week. A multi-day storm dumped more than two feet of snow on some West Virginia and Maryland resorts, while mountains in North Carolina got up to 18 inches. As a result, most ski resorts in our region are officially open and blanketed with some of the best early season powder they’ve seen in years. Check out this vid from Snowshoe’s opening day, which got 27 inches of fluff in three days.
