Winter finally hit with full force in the Southern Appalachians this week. A multi-day storm dumped more than two feet of snow on some West Virginia and Maryland resorts, while mountains in North Carolina got up to 18 inches. As a result, most ski resorts in our region are officially open and blanketed with some of the best early season powder they’ve seen in years.
