An Evening of Wilderness Champions – Celebrating 50 Years of Wilderness
Attend this special evening event in Asheville on Friday, May 30, to help celebrate champions of the past that brought the Wilderness Act to life and the champions of present who work in and out of our land management agencies to serve the special places across the Southern Appalachians that remain pristine under protections of the Wilderness Act.
The event will also serve to inspire that next generation of Wilderness Champions as part of the Wilderness Skills Institute (a project of Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards, USFS and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy). Hors d’oeuvres will be served, a cash bar will be available, and food may be purchased at the restaurant downstairs.
When: 4-8 p.m.
Where: Century Room at Pack’s Tavern (20 South Spruce Street, Asheville N.C.)
Who: Anyone who enjoys and supports wild places/landscapes
