Do You Rogaine?

No, not the stuff that stops male-pattern baldness. We’re talking about the burgeoning sport of rogaining, which combines orienteering with ultra running. Teams of two to five navigate a course with map and compass, hitting a number of checkpoints as fast as they can. While standard orienteering events can be as short as a couple of hours, the classic rogaine is 24 hours long, putting competitors into the field for longer distances between checkpoints. The niche sport is still growing in the U.S. The closest opportunity to test your all-day running and navigating skills is at the Michaux Memorial Day Rogaine, held in Pine Grove State Park, Pa. on Memorial Day weekend.
