<h4>Boone Bluegrass Festival-September 8-9-Boone, N.C.:</h4> Early fall picking in the High Country at the fairgrounds featuring IIIrd Tyme Out, New Found Road, and Larry Stephenson band. www.boonebluegrassfest.com.

<h4>Organicfest-September 9-Asheville, N.C.:</h4> Downtown Asheville’s Pack Square holds an annual celebration of everything organic from food to clothes to crafts. Learn about how easy it is to incorporate organic in your life with informative talks and various local vendors. www.organicfest.org.

<h4>Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion-September 15-17-Bristol, Tenn./Va.:</h4> This festival that takes place in Bristol-known as the “Birthplace of Country Music”-is a true celebration of the roots of Appalachian music and its many interpretations. This year the festival again offers a wide range of talent and musical styles, from the jam grass of Railroad Earth and Drew Emmitt Band to the traditional bluegrass of Del McCoury Band, the country twang of Marty Stuart, and the songwriting of Darrell Scott. The festival will also be hosting its first Super Jam, which will take place the first night. Other confirmed acts include Junior Brown, Jim Lauderdale, Darrell Scott, and Mountain Heart. www.bristolrhythm.com.

<h4>Mountain Song Festival-September 16-Brevard, N.C.:</h4> The small mountain town brings some of the best in acoustic music to a one-day event at the Brevard Music Center. Artists on the bill highlight Carolina’s finest including Doc Watson, Steep Canyon Rangers, and the Biscuit Burners. www.mountainsongfestival.com.

<h4>Festival in the Park-September 21-24-Charlotte, N.C.:</h4> The Festival in the Park is a four-day outdoor arts and crafts festival, taking place at Freedom Park with 175 local and regional artists and craft exhibitors and nearly 1,000 music, culture, and kids entertainers. www.festivalinthepark.org.
