Aquawoman

Katie Spotz, a 21-year-old Warren Wilson graduate, recently became the first person to swim the entire length of the Allegheny River, swimming for 28 days straight through New York and into Pennsylvania. Spotz swam solo, averaging 12-15 miles a day for a total of 325 miles.

Spotz completed the swim in order to raise awareness for the poor water quality that plagues most third world countries. She’s also planning to row across the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness for the same issue.
