USA Track and Field recently announced the Trail 10K national championship will be held in Western North Carolina, on the trails of Laurel Ridge Camp and Conference Center in Ashe County. The race will be held on August 29 and is expected to attract some of the best distance trail runners in the country.
Laurel Ridge is a privately owned camp in a corner of North Carolina known for its tough climbs. The race is being directed by local ultra runner Jason Bryant.
