Climbing for Cancer

The Fourth Annual Climb4Life Metro D.C., held from February 27 to March 28 at various venues around the metro area, just reported that it successfully raised $60,000 to fight ovarian cancer. The month-long indoor rock climbing event was hosted by Sportrock and Earth Treks gyms and included climbing clinics and instruction by professional athletes. the event is presented by the HERA (Health, Empowerment, Research and Awareness) Foundation, a nonprofit that lost its founder, notable climber and entrepreneur Sean Patrick to ovarian cancer earlier this year. More Climb4Life events will take place in Boulder, Colo., on June 26-27, and Salt Lake City, Utah on September 17-20. More info here
