Climbing for Life

This week marks the start of the third annual HERA Ovarian Cancer Climb for Life, a month-long climbing festival in various venues around the metro Washington, D.C., area to benefit ovarian cancer research.

 

Taking place between February 29 and March 29, the event will feature a series of clinics, ranging from yoga to self-rescue, for everyone from beginners to experts. There will also be presentations from and chances to climb with professionals including Eric Hörst, Katie Brown, Whitney Boland, Nate Gold, and Eric Scully. One ticket price of $30 gets climbers into all events that will take place at REI locations in Fairfax, Va., and Rockville Md., Earth Treks Gyms in Columbia, Rockville, and Timonium, Md., and Sportrock Gyms in Alexandria and Sterling, Va.

 

HERA (Health, Empowerment, Research and Advocacy) is a leading nonprofit organization that funds ovarian cancer research. Proceeds from the event will support ovarian cancer scientists at Johns Hopkins University. for a full festival schedule visit www.heraclimb4lifedc08.kintera.org.
