The Congaree River Blue Trail was recently named to the prestigious list of National Recreation Trails, making it the water trail to be designated a National Recreation Trail in South Carolina.
The Congaree River Blue Trail is the river equivalent of a hiking trail, serving as a recreation corridor through the Congaree National Park and its old growth bottomland forest. The designation of the blue trail as a National Recreation Trail will bring the river increased visibility and funding.
