DMB Digs MTB

One of the biggest bands in the world is making an impact on local trails. The Dave Matthews Band, the multi-platinum, stadium-filling grassroots rock outfit, is donating funds for new mountain biking trails in Central Virginia. The group, which got its start over 15 years ago playing bars and clubs around its hometown of Charlottesville, awarded the Charlottesville Area Mountain Bike Club (CAMBC) a $4,800 grant. The funds, donated through the band’s nonprofit BAMA Works Fund, will be used to build 60 miles of new trails within three new parks in surrounding Albemarle County. According to the CAMBC, the trail project, which will cost a total of $25,000, will be completed in seven years.
