Jack Frost Comes Early

A handful of ski resorts in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic are experiencing an early winter. North Carolina High Country resorts received close to an inch of snow over the last 48 hours, and Snowshoe, Timberline, and Canaan in West Virginia got 1 to 1.5 inches of fluffy. Cataloochee, in Maggie Valley, N.C. is already eyeing a pre-Thanksgiving opening date. Similar conditions hit area resorts during October last year, allowing the ski season to begin early across the region. Wax your sticks. Ski season is upon us.
