Famous Appalachian moonshiner Marvin “Popcorn” Sutton was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Monday for illegally brewing spirits and possessing a firearm. Sutton, who is an underground legend for his renowned brand of white lightening, received national attention for his craft on a CMT documentary called “Moonshine Madness.” He plead guilty after being busted with 800 gallons of shine during a sting operation by federal agents last March.
