Too Busy to Play

The annual Outdoor Recreation Participation Report shows participation in outdoor recreation among youth (ages 6 to 17) dropped by 6 percent in 2008. Last year’s decrease is indicative of an overall trend among American youth. According to the report’s annual findings, outdoor participation among the same age group has dropped almost 17 percent over the last three years. The report is produced by the Outdoor Foundation and details participation trends in outdoor recreation. According to the findings, kids cited their busy lifestyles as the number one reason they aren’t playing outside.
