Trail Tales

Harbins Park in Gwinnett County, Georgia recently opened to rave reviews from mountain bikers who enjoyed the brand new six miles of purpose built singletrack. The park sits north of Atlanta, and three more mountain bike trails are in the works, all of which will be built by SORBA.  Last year, the county parks commission was awarded a $100k RTP grant for mountain bike trail production at Harbins Park, and this grant will be used specifically for the remaining trails within the system. When this five-trail system is complete, approximately 20 miles of mountain bike trails, ranging from beginner to expert levels, will be enjoyed at Harbins Park.

Eastern Virginia Mountain Bike Association is busy working on new trails at York River State Park, adding four miles to the existing system. And the Southern Virginia Mountain Bike Association is busy working on an extensive trail system at Philpott Lake, an Army Corps of Engineer park near Danville.
