Wet and Wild

Outdoor groups recently won a federal court decision blocking the King William Reservoir, a massive and unnecessary water impoundment sought by Newport News, Virginia.  It would have resulted in the largest authorized destruction of wetlands in the mid-Atlantic since the Clean Water Act was passed in 1972. It also would have obliterated 21 miles of streams linked to rivers that feed the Chesapeake Bay.
