We’ve Got Gas

The Energy Department recently released a report showing that the amount of greenhouse gases this country produces increased in 2007 by 1.4 percent. According to the report, the increase in greenhouse gases is the result of people using more coal-fired energy to heat their houses during an unusually cold winter and cool their houses during an unusually hot summer.

The U.S. produced 8 billion tons of greenhouse gases in 2007, according to the Energy Department report.
