Forbes Magazine recently published an article detailing the top ten whitewater towns in the country, as chosen by three former and current Olympians–Joe Jacobi, Scott Shipley, and Brett Heyl. All boaters have ties to the South and together they named three Southern towns to the top ten roster. Chattanooga made the list for its creek boating, Charlotte made the list for the Olympic Whitewater Center, and D.C. earned a spot because of the Potomac and the lineage of Olympic kayakers who’ve trained in the city.
