Weekend Picks-North: Mad Anthony Mud Run

This 4.5-mile battle awaits you this Saturday, February 22nd at Coyner Springs Park in Waynesboro, Virginia.

The Mad Anthony Mud Run trail-style course will test your strength, endurance and wit through various obstacles. The race pays homage to the city’s namesake, General “Mad” Anthony Wayne.

These “battles” include a tunnel crawl, balance beam, and hay bale climb. The new course and battles will introduce a wave start to avoid crowing at obstacles for you and your team. That’s right – you can now compete as a team in all male, all female or mixed with a minimum of 3 participants to a maximum of 8.

There will also be a new costume contest with prizes awarded post-race to the best single, tandem and group contest winners – but you must complete the course in costume to win.

Mud Run registration will be taken from 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. on race day and participants must be at least 15 years old on or before February 22, 2014 to participate.

The registration fee is $55 and includes a short-sleeve tech tee, finishers medal, along with beers and bonfires at the finish.

Please note, this is not your typical mud run. Expect a challenging course and “battles” with ankle-deep mud in some sections.

Register at Run the Valley Race Series.
