What guidelines and protocols have you put in place to keep visitors and employees safe during COVID-19?

All guests are required to book online in advance. This helps minimize interactions upon arrival. Guests will be required to choose a pickup time when booking rental gear to help control the number of people who are in the rental shop and prevent overcrowding. We ask any guests who are not vaccinated to wear a mask while inside any resort building and any time they are interacting with an employee.

What’s new at the resort this year?

The rental shop has been expanded to accommodate for more rental equipment and help with the flow of traffic through the space. Live music will return every weekend, including happy hour sets at Carter’s Hütte every Saturday.

What are the best après ski activities available at the resort and in the area?

Carter’s Hütte is our outdoor bar and grille, and will have live music every Saturday for happy hour. The Copper Kettle will have live music inside every Saturday night. Check out the events page for a list of upcoming entertainment.

Where do you recommend visitors buy or rent their gear?

Our onsite Ski Boutique, located in the new Shenandoah Center, offers the latest gear and apparel that will equip anyone for a day out on the slopes.

How many beginner, intermediate, and expert trails are there?

2 beginner, 4 intermediate, 1 expert, 1 terrain park

What activities are available beyond the slopes?

Snow Tubing is directly beside the slopes, no skills required. Take a spin on the ice skating rink next to the tubing hill in front of the restaurant. The surrounding mountains offer a variety of hiking trails to explore with unbeatable views. Visit the historic Shrine Mont in Orkney Springs just down the road. You can even stay a night in one of their quaint cabins.

Where is the best place to stay in the area? And if they are looking to buy?

Several onsite locations are offered through different companies as well as realty companies for those looking to buy. From hotels and condos to slopeside cabins, you can browse all of the options online.

What do you offer for beginners who want to learn how to ski or snowboard?

First Time Private Package bundles a lift ticket, one-hour lesson, and rental equipment for anyone 8 years of age and older looking to take to the slopes for the first time. The award-winning Kinder School features unique and interactive activities designed to teach children ages 4-7 how to get started in the sports of skiing and snowboarding.

What are the best runs and why?

Our signature trail, Bootlegger, is the perfect intermediate slope, offering an upper section that provides moderate pitch, perfect for carving, and featuring a steep headwall at the end to challenge most skiers and snowboarders.
