What guidelines and protocols have you put in place to keep visitors and employees safe during COVID-19?

Our employees use face masks at all times while interacting with customers. We also have shields at our ticketing counters and regularly disinfect common surfaces. Customers are required to wear masks while purchasing tickets. Outside, social distancing is encouraged and facilitated at areas where lines are required. All rental equipment is disinfected when returned for the next user.

What’s new at the facility this year?

We have updated some areas of our Snowflex surface with new material. We also added in a new beginner area to separate riders working on tricks and those just beginning.

What are the best après ski activities available at the resort and in the area?

Our facility offers a nice lodge and beautiful views of the Lynchburg valley. Riders and their families can enjoy the lodge while they are not riding and can view all of the taxidermy that was donated when the facility was built.

Where do you recommend visitors buy or rent their gear?

Renting gear is very affordable at our facility and encouraged if you do not already own equipment.

How many beginner, intermediate, and expert trails are there?

We have one beginner run and one intermediate/advanced run that come together in places and are separate in others.

What activities are available beyond the slopes?

We have two Neveplast tubing runs—300 feet long and 500 feet long. We also have an Olympic style trampoline outdoors that offers a great view of the valley while you jump.

Where is the best place to stay in the area? And if they are looking to buy?

Lynchburg has two colleges in the area so hotels are plentiful. Fairfield Inn is directly across from our facility and offers a nice view of the valley as well.

What do you offer for beginners who want to learn how to ski or snowboard?

When we are out of COVID restrictions we offer lessons for $30. Our lessons include any equipment a rider may need and also a two-hour combo pass that can be used for any of the activities at the facility. You will get one hour of instruction and can then use the rest of your time to continue riding or try other activities. Snowflex is different than real snow, but the basic mechanics are the same, and having a beginner lesson at our facility translates to riding real snow.

Do you offer any family-friendly activities?

Our tubing runs are really easy for families to enjoy. We can accommodate younger kids as well on our sleds using the beginner ski area and our staff makes sure everyone has a good time.

Are there activities available in the off-season?

No snow? No problem! Snowflex material allows us to operate year-round, meaning we do not have an off-season.
