Bucks for Blankets

The Woodstock chapter of SORBA recently received a $10,000 grant from Bikes Belong to help expand the Blankets Creek Trail System located about a half hour north of downtown Atlanta. The bike club has been raising funds for a year in order to expand the popular trail system, and the recent grant will bring their grand total of their “war chest” to $50,000.

With the funds, SORBA plans on expanding the beginner loop and creating a brand new advanced loop that traverses steep, technical terrain. They’re also considering adding a freeride area.

Blankets Creek is a stacked loop trail system that is rapidly becoming the hub of mountain biking in metro Atlanta, playing host to a number of races, festivals, and happy hour bikers.
