The North Face will pay you to take children into the woods. Well, sort of. The outdoor gear and clothing company is accepting applications from non-profits for their Explore Fund, a cache of grants to be doled out to organizations that are doing their part to introduce kids to the wonders of the outdoor world. The company has set aside $250,000 in grants to allocate throughout 2011. Grants will be in the $2,500 range, and only professional proposals will be considered. So, if you’re a member of a bike club that has a cool youth program, or an environmental organization that takes kids on a canoeing/water sampling trip…tell The North Face. They might write you a check.
