Festival Line-Ups: Merlefest, FloydFest, and Shaky Knees

Some of the region’s biggest festivals have started to unveil impressive line-ups for 2024. Merlefest, the annual Americana bash that takes place on the campus on Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, N.C., will feature Old Crow Medicine Show, Turnpike Troubadours, the Teskey Brothers, and Nickel Creek. A few additional headliners are still to be announced for the event that runs from April 25-28. The undercard features an expected roster of bluegrass heavyweights, including Sam Bush, Steep Canyon Rangers, the Earls of Leicester, and Peter Rowan. Ticket options and more information can be found here

After last year’s cancellation, FloydFest is ready to make a big return at a new site called FestivalPark in Check, Va. The popular event’s organizers dropped a couple of headliners (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and Sierra Ferrell) with early ticket info, and many more artists will be revealed soon. The festival takes place from July 24-28.

And earlier this week it was announced that the Shaky Knees Music Festival would return to Atlanta’s Central Park on May 3-5. The eclectic fest—heavy on rock and indie acts—pulled some big names for 2024, including Foo Fighters, Noah Kahan, Weezer, and Queens of the Stone Age. Additional acts: Dinosaur Jr., Yves Tumor, Waxahatchee, and Chicano Batman. Tickets and more info here.

BRO will continue to cover festival lineups as they’re announced and look for our annual Festival Guide in the May 2024 issue.
