Get in Gear Fest Returns to North Carolina This Spring

Get in Gear Fest, will return to western North Carolina this spring, taking place in Asheville on May 6. This year the festival will move to a new location, The Outpost, a riverfront music venue located on the French Broad River Greenway.

The one-day event—which features gear demos and sales, as well as live music, food trucks, and local craft beer—is hosted by Outdoor Gear Builders (OGB) of Western North Carolina, an organization that connects over 100 outdoor-oriented companies including manufacturers, retailers, and outfitters in the region. This year OGB—whose membership includes well-known Blue Ridge-based gear companies like Eagles Nest Outfitters, Kitsbow, and Farm to Feet—is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The festival’s new location gives attendees opportunities to test gear on nearby trails and the river. Fest-goers can also meet representatives from regional brands, and purchase gear on-site, while mingling in their local outdoor community. Event organizers are encouraging people to ride or float to the venue.

“We’re stoked to have such an iconic event as Get in Gear Fest at The Outpost,” said Anna Rawlins, OGB Board Chair and Director of Marketing at ENO. “The event attracts tourists and locals alike, providing an opportunity for attendees to see why Western North Carolina is aptly named the Outdoor Industry Hub of the East.”
