Stimulating Our Parks

The economic stimulus bill recently signed by President Obama directs $3 billion to the Department of Interior (National Park Service and Bureau of Land Management) and $1 billion to the forest service to fund road and trail projects, campground maintenance, and fire mitigation projects.

Both agencies have been told funds will go to a mix of projects including trail and campground restoration and that the highest priority will be given to projects that will create the most private sector jobs.
