Weekend Picks: American Heritage Race Series Kickoff at Montpelier

The first leg of the American Heritage Race Series kicks off at Montpelier this weekend, Saturday, March 22, with the Montpelier 5K road run.

The races are your chance for a once in a lifetime view of a historic site! Montpelier Grounds are open year-round and for this event runners get a free mansion tour and can hang out all day.

South Fork food truck from Charlottesville, Va., is coming to the race on Saturday — bringing good company and delicious food to this second annual event.

Race starts at 9 a.m. Kids run at 8:30.
