Escape the everyday hustle and bustle and connect with nature at the Blackwater River in the City of Franklin, Virginia. The Blackwater River joins the Nottoway to form the Chowan at the Virginia-North Carolina state line. You will guarantee to see whitetail deer, numerous waterfowl, and many unique reptile and amphibian species. A double-lane boat ramp with paved parking is available for easier access. 

Relax and Refresh at Blackwater Park in the City of Franklin, Virginia. Blackwater Park is a 200-acre park with features a 800-foot boardwalk, two miles of trails, and the construction of parking, roads, a pavilion, and kiosk. Blackwater Park gives patrons the opportunity to observe wildlife and learn from the educational signage. Blackwater Park is home to some of the oldest trees reaching over 155 feet tall.
