Introducing ÆRA Components

The brainchild of a specialist British design and engineering company, these stunning new wheels and forks were created to ride the road less traveled.

Meet Aera Components, the new British-based manufacturer of carbon fiber forks and wheels for road bikes. With a focus on performance and reliability, you can’t avoid how good they look! They are strikingly simple and fully customizable. Riders can select their hubs, rims and spoke count of their wheelsets; choosing from Hope, Tune and Chris King hubs, as well as a Son Schmidt dynamo front hub.

The ÆRA AR Disc carbon rims are laced with Sapim CX-Ray spokes and Sapim black brass nipples. Each wheel is handbuilt in the UK by a master wheelsmith, easily handling smooth tarmac or rough roads.

All disc forks are flat mount, featuring internal cable routing and a crown mounting to place the dynamo light. They come with 12mm Shimano E-thru axles and are hand painted in the UK. Don’t like the brevet black? Riders have the option to order custom-colored forks.

“ÆRA was inspired by our own bike rides, adventures, and tours on roads and gravel tracks. It’s this insatiable appetite for adventure that led to our development of these amazing new wheels and components,” says David Clow, ÆRA designer and founder.

“All of our products have been designed to offer the perfect balance of performance, durability, and reliability with an elegant aesthetic. The very essence of adventure is the unknown, and this means being prepared for anything along the way. We place extraordinary emphasis on reliability and this means we make every effort to design our wheels and components to be as tough as possible.”

Wheel Specs

The Aera Wheels come in three different styles, the AR|36, AR|46, and AR|56mm, each with 24 or 28-hole options. The rims are optimized for smooth-rolling 28mm tires and will work flawlessly with tires up to 50mm.

Fork Specs

Among the new range of forks, the ÆRA ‘All Road’ AR Disc fork has an innovative design to accommodate tires of up to 38mm wide (700C tires) and 40mm wide (650B tires), perfect for road adventure bikes. The Road Disc and Road Caliper forks both offer clearance for 700C tires of up to 32mm without mudguards and 28mm with mudguards.
