SORBA Grows

A new chapter of SORBA (Southern Off Road Bicycle Association) has been formed in Western North Carolina. The Nantahala SORBA chapter will begin maintaining systems in and around the Nantahala National Forest, including Panthertown Valley and the world-famous Tsali Recreation Area. The chapter has plans to build a trail system on Western Carolina University’s campus in Cullowhee, expand the existing Flint Ridge trail system in the Nantahala Gorge, and rehab Tsali. Maintenance in Tsali will be kick-started in April, when master trail builder Woody Keen and his company, Trail Dynamics, offer two days of trail building and instruction for the club. A website for the chapter is still in the works, but you can find out more about SORBA and the trail work here.
