Pitch In for Public Lands

This Saturday, September 26, is National Public Lands Day, an annual celebration when thousands of volunteers perform much-needed maintenance in our national parks, forests, and state lands. Last year, 120,000 volunteers built trails, removed trash, and planted trees in public lands across the country. This year, volunteer efforts are planned for parks and forests all over the Southeast. For instance, in Kentucky’s Mammoth Cave National Park, volunteers will don gloves and work boots for a massive invasive species removal.
