43 Years of Running
The Genworth Virginia 10 Miler is one of the oldest 10 mile events east of the Mississippi! Its course has challenged many legendary runners including Bill Rogers, Frank Shorter, Dick Beardsley, Joan Benoit Samuelson, and other famous world class athletes. Now celebrating its 43rd year, the event continues to host both elite athletes and thousands of participants. The event prides itself on being run on the same course for more than 40 years.

Although dancing is not a requirement many find themselves celebrating with the live bands that can be found jamming away race day! Rock n roll, country, and some golden oldies give participants a much needed boost…especially up Farm Basket Hill. Live music can also be found at our 10 mile finish line where you can share your race day experience with others while taking in the tunes.
A Nationally Recognized Event
The Genworth Virginia 10 Miler has been selected as a State, Regional, and National Championship by the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) more than once in recent history. The largest running organization in the world was so impressed the event was named Road Race of the Year in 2014. This year’s event will be the RRCA Virginia State Championship.
Fun for the Whole Family!
The Genworth Virginia 10 Miler weekend has a fitness event for all abilities and opportunities for the whole family to enjoy. Participants can choose the historic Virginia 10 Miler, Virginia 4 Miler, and the Virginia 4 Mile Walk. The excitement begins Friday evening with the Amazing Mile Children’s Run and Family Festival hosted the award winning children’s museum Amazement Square.
