“Virginia is for Lovers” in Loudoun

1969-2019: It’s been a ~groovy~ 50 Years of Love in Virginia! That’s why we’re headed out all around Loudoun on our Summer of Love Tour from June through August 🚐

Come meet us at our Tour stops! You’ll find us recreating Woodstock, kicked off by a five-course, locally-sourced, family-style, farm-to-table Dinner Under the Stars ✨😋🎶 Meet us out on Strawberry Fields Forever or under the sun in a Peach Daze. We’ll be dressing in our summer best for an evening of Polotasting our way through Leesburg, Virginia and swinging to sweet tunes at our Summer of Love Music Festival 🎸

Take a step back in time and celebrate fifty years of love with groovy-themed music, movies and costumes! The party starts on Friday evening with an Eat, Drink & Be Literary event, featuring a farm-to-table community dinner under the stars and a talk on the impact of the music of the 1960s. Join us Saturday for the festival and “Summer of Love” kick-off celebration, featuring local musicians, food, craft beverage and artisan vendors. Now, you can finally say, “I went to Woodstock!” *Please note that attending the Community Dinner (Friday) requires an admission fee and that products from Saturday’s vendors will require purchase.*

The Loudoun Freedom Center and Waterford Foundation Inc. will lead an informative panel discussion on the history and impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision to allow interracial marriages via the case of Loving v. Virginia. The moderator is Dr. George P. Banks.

On the Summer of Love tour, we rock only the brightest colors: tie-dye by day and Lilly by night! In the 1960’s, Lilly Pulitzer’s brand started catching attention with bright colors and celebrity endorsements, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. As a resident of Middleburg, Jackie was known for her interest in equestrian events — so, on July 27th, Polo in the Park will be Lilly Pulitzer-themed to pay tribute to the iconic brand and former first lady, all while enjoying a riveting match of polo on a sweet summer evening! *Please note that attending Polo in the Park requires an admission fee.*

Who could resist an opportunity to sleep beneath the stars?! Immerse yourself in nature with a guided hike before settling into your tents for the evening. Registration for overnight camping is $10/person, but everyone is welcome to join for the earthy activities! Please remember to bring all your own camping supplies. Tree-hugging most definitely encouraged. *Please note the $10 per camper charge for overnight stays.*
