Under the Chimneys, Up by the Stage

8th Annual Red Wing Roots Music Festival

Entering its eighth year, Red Wing continues to surprise and delight music and outdoor lovers. With five stages and 40 bands you will not have a hard time finding an intimate musical and nature experience at the gorgeous Natural Chimney’s Park. Here is a handful of quotes from Red Wing VII patrons last July.

“It is the greatest weekend of the year. I wish I could live at Red Wing and I am eternally grateful to everyone involved. Many of the moments with my family and friends that I will remember for the rest of my life have happened at Red Wing.”

“This has become a staple of our summer. We look forward to this all year long. We leave refreshed, renewed, and relaxed.”

“This is my favorite festival. Such a fun, safe environment where everyone feels like family and the music heals the soul.”

“Red Wing Roots is my favorite! The music is incredible, the setting is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. I can’t wait until next year.”

“I say this every year, but Red Wing Roots Festival just gets better and better!  Even though I am not a fan of summer weather, and even though this year was the hottest-weather Red Wing yet, Red Wing is a highlight of my year, every year. There is peace, there is love, there is excellent music, and there is a feeling of HOPE that comes from the roots and folk music, the feeling and sincere belief that things will be OK. There is also the fragrance of patchouli and nag champa in the air, but that only adds to the loving hippie vibe!”

“Fantastic music, gorgeous setting, and great fellowship with excellent friends. As always, there is a great sense of caring, kindness, and community at Red Wing.”

The 3-Day festival takes place at the beautiful Natural Chimneys Park and Campground in Mt Solon, VA, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley and includes 40+ bands on five different stages.

The towering limestone chimneys, reaching more than 120′ in the air, provide a spectacular backdrop to lounge in the Music Meadow and hear some great music in the great outdoors. Folks can also grab a craft beer, cider, or glass of wine in multiple beer gardens that have been situated with lots of shade from towering trees and also within view of the music.

2020 Line Up Includes: The Mavericks, Sarah Jarosz, Billy Strings, Asleep At the Wheel, Hiss Golden Messenger, Son Little, Tim O’Brien Band, Peter Rowan’s Free Mexican Airforce w/ Los Texmaniacs, The Steel Wheels, Dustbowl Revival, The Cactus Blossoms, Hawktail, Town Mountain and many more.

Red Wing focuses on the whole experience: an incredible variety of food, craft vendors, kids activities, camping, swimming, organized bike rides, yoga, runs, hiking adventures, and much, more!

Red Wing has sold out the last two years and has not increased ticket capacity for 2020, so don’t wait too long to get your tickets! More info? www.redwingroots.com
