What’s New?

Ober Mountain has invested 4 million dollars in new snow equipment for ski and snowboard season at Ober. 41 new SMI PoleCat fully automated snow guns will allow us to make sure faster and open slopes quicker. This winter season at Ober Mountain will be like no other!

2024 plans include replacing 2 chairlifts. The new lifts will be Fixed Grip Quads. The Scenic Chairlift will more than double in capacity once in place. We’re excited to bring yet more additions to Ober Mountain.

An all New Zipline Experience is coming to Ober in early 2024! Construction is underway of 4 towers that will include the longest run to be nearly 3,200 feet! This will be the ONLY 4 line wide ziplines in the Eastern United States!

What are the best apres ski activities at the resort and in the area?

After a day on the slopes, visitors can enjoy other activities like Snow Tubing, Indoor Ice Skating & Ice Bumper Cars.

Best Place for Lessons and Gear Rentals?

Ober Mountain is a great place for beginners! We offer Ski School every day, all day when the slopes are open. No reservations are necessary! Group lessons are $30/person/hour and private lessons are $85/hour. We also have a $199 progressive 4-day Winter sports Discovery Program lesson package that includes 4 rentals, 4 lessons, and 4 lift tickets in the package.

What are your best runs?

They’re all great in their own ways, but Grizzly is our wonderful hidden gem. It is a long run with steep, varied terrain that is nestled along the tree line. It is one of our advanced runs and has less traffic than the others. It also offers nice views!

Do you have family friendly activities?

We have Snow Tubing and a Snow Zone for the kids to play!

Off Season Activities include Downhill Mountain Biking, the Tennessee Flyer Mountain Coaster, a Scenic Chairlift, and the Smoky Mountain Bobsled!

Smoky Mountain Fall Festival at Ober Mountain during the entire month of October! You don’t want to miss this event centered around music, food and FUN!
