The Conservation Fund recently awarded the ATC $30,000 to help acquire White Rocks, a collection of five parcels of land in Southern Pennsylvania that surround the A.T. and White Rocks Trail. The privately owned parcels, which total 1,050 acres and sit near the Alex Kennedy Shelter, had been slated for development. Their purchase will secure the A.T.’s viewshed in Pennsylvania as well preserve an unbroken eastern forest habitat.
