Investments in wind, solar, and other alternative energy jumped up to $148 billion in 2007, according to a report released last week by the United Nations. That’s a 60 percent increase from the previous year.
Wind energy had the biggest boost with $50 billion in new investments, while solar was the fastest-growing section, shooting up 90 percent from the previous year with $28 billion.
