Wisp Resort has some exciting new high-tech additions for the 19.20 Winter Season including 5 new state-of-the-art Techno Alpin TR8 tower fan snow guns on lower Squirrel Cage, a new RFID ticketing gate system, a new mobile app and revamped food outlets and offerings.
The science of making snow continues to evolve in the mid-Atlantic and with new advancements in the snowmaking industry, Wisp Resort is continually improving snowmaking infrastructure to bring skiers and riders more reliable snow. This winter we are adding 5 new Techno Alpin TR8 tower fan snow guns on lower Squirrel Cage. These guns are more energy efficient, have a greater range of working temperatures and will be safer for the staff to work on due to their telescopic ability.
Wisp has partnered with Team Axess on an RFID ticketing gate system that will provide a more convenient and streamlined experience for skiers and snowboarders. No more fumbling with zippers or pockets to get your pass out, no more visits to the Lift Ticket Window – once guests have their reloadable RFID card, they can reload lift tickets or renew season passes online and go direct from their car to the chairlift. RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification Device and it’s all in a card the size of a credit card. Learn more here.
Wisp – there’s an app for that! While our website is mobile responsive, our new app will feature all the most useful mountain and resort information displayed in a convenient easy-to-use format including an interactive trail map, GPS tracking, push notifications on dining specials, unique offers and more. Launching November 2019.
