The lodging specials offer great deals on lodging and activities.

  • In January and February, we offer free concerts every Friday!

Q: What are your best runs and why?

Ace’s Run in North Camp is the perfect intermediate meandering trail, and Mainstreet is the most scenic black diamond, which has great views since it overlooks Deep Creek Lake.

Q: Where do you recommend visitors buy their gear?

Our on-site ski shop Outdoor Elements, is a full service ski and snowboard shop featuring technical and leisure outerwear, and hard goods including ski and snowboard equipment from the top name brands in the outdoor recreation industry.

Q: Any local beers/spirits in the area that our readers have to try?

Try the Wisp Maple Amber Ale, brewed by Jailbreak Brewery exclusively for Wisp.

Q: What are the best off-the-slope activities that you offer?

For more winter fun off the slopes, visiting Wisp’s Snow Tubing Park is a must. With twelve tube shoots each 750 ft. long, designated helpers and it’s own snowmaking and grooming machines, it is one winter attraction you don’t want to miss!

Another must-do activity is the The Mountain Coaster. A gravitational hybrid of an Alpine Slide and a Roller Coaster, it boasts a 1,300-foot uphill track while twisting, turning, dipping, and rolling for 3,500 feet downhill with views of Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County below.

If you’re up for a drive, venture off resort to hike Swallow Falls State Park to see Maryland’s tallest waterfall.

Q: Where do you suggest your visitors stay in the area? And if they want to buy in the area?

Slope side is the way to go at Wisp, and the Lodge at Wisp is perfect for ski-in/ski-out.

Q: What do you offer beginners who want to learn to ski?

We have a new program, called the 3-Free-Learn-To-Ski/Ride deal. From December 16 – 24, receive three free all-inclusive learn-to packages (lift ticket, equipment rental, group lesson). After completion, skier/rider is eligible to purchase a $99 2017-18 Wisp Season Pass valid for the remainder of the Winter Season. Guests must sign-up online at least 48 hours in advance.  Limited availability based on terrain.
